Arsenal Injury update : Declan Rice and Bukayo Saka are doubtful for the Bournemouth game, according to Mikel Arteta, adding William Saliba to Arsenal's injury concerns...
The Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has been speaking to the press ahead of his side’s trip to the south coast to face Bournemouth. The Gunners responded to the North London Derby disappointment with a win in midweek at Brentford in the Carabao Cup.
However, Arteta is still reeling from a double injury in the derby to Declan Rice and Bukayo Saka. The pair failed to train ahead of the midweek clash and the Spaniard provided an update on the pair in today’s press conference.
When asked about Declan Rice, he replied, "He wasn’t available. He had to leave the London Debry and he hasn’t trained yet. We have another session in an hour or two so we’ll have more news about him today."
Again, he hasn’t trained. We want him back, we need him back, but at the moment he’s not been available," Arteta said. Regarding Saka and Trossard he said, "Same situation."
William Saliba has a, "knock" too as Arteta describes it hence why he missed Brentford. It is worrying times with the squad for Arsenal.
With these issues, there is sure to be chances for the likes of Jorginho, Reiss Nelson and perhaps Emile Smith Rowe too as Arteta navigates a side he had no problems dispatching at the Vitality Stadium last season.
