The numbers each player will wear which number in 2023/24
The Gunners led eventual treble winners Manchester City for much of the campaign before being usurped and are now tasked with going again while making an impression on their return to the Champions League.

Failure in Europe would be disappointing given the ambitious and expensive summer Mikel Arteta's side have enjoyed in the transfer market so far. Kai Havertz has arrived, with Declan Rice and Jurrien Timber expected to follow very soon.

Despite the fact that outlandish numbers are seldom seen in the Premier League, with Rico Lewis' 82 at Manchester City being the highest ever, any number between 1 and 99 is allowed.

The main rule is that it must be unique within the team. Also following tradition, goalkeepers will generally occupy numbers one and 13. Zero is also not allowed.

Declan Rice may have already hinted at his plans for pre-season as talks continue between Arsenal and West Ham over a transfer for the England international. The 24-year-old is Mikel Arteta's priority target this summer, football.london understands, and it's believed a £105million fee has been agreed between the two clubs. The Gunners' sporting director Edu Gaspar is locked in talks with the Hammers and it's thought the structure of the deal is the only remaining stumbling block.
